Fashion Your Firefox: Add-Ons Made Simple

The concept of Firefox add-ons, however this may sound silly to the experienced user, is still (and probably always will be) blurry to the majority of users. Simply put, mostly people install Firefox, and browse the web. Period. They don’t want to meddle with the settings, plugins, add-ons and whatnot.
Understanding this, Mozilla launched a new initiative - they call it “application,” but there’s no real application to speak of here - called Fashion Your Firefox. It’s a simple directory that organizes some of the best add-ons for Firefox in several easily understandable categories. This is how Mozilla defines them:
- Shutterbug: View and share pictures and videos online
- Rock Star: Listen to music while surfing, working, emailing or researching online
- News Junkie: Get the most up-to-date news and weather
- Shopaholic: Shop and take advantage of online deals
- Digital Pack Rat: Keep track of favorite sites, bookmarks and blogs
- Social Butterfly: Share, bookmark, and e-mail web pages via an array of social networking & bookmarking sites
- Finder and Seeker: Find and make information on the Web more relevant
- Decorator: Apply browser themes
- Executive Assistant: Organize online activities
Each category hides a couple of add-ons. That’s it: nothing too fancy here, and probably not too interesting for Firefox veterans who already have their own selection of crucial add-ons. But users who feel overwhelmed when they try to browse through Firefox’ immense selection of available add-ons might find this one very useful.

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is a great event.
The world's most insanely hot models strut down the runway in ridiculous lingerie that you will never see a woman wear in person in your entire life. At least if you're one of our interns. Sorry, people. We're just calling it like we see it here.
Here's Marisa Miller in some wonderfully practical undergarments ...
Click to enlarge some other photos from the event, featuring the likes of Heidi Klum, Miranda Kerr, Adriana Lima (we hate that stiff Marko Jaric) and Alessandra Ambrosio, who looks pretty good considering she had a baby like last week.

The Fountainbleau Hotel in Miami was sick with scantily clad supermodels and celebrities this weekend as the angels worked in on the runway. Usher kicked off the show as 35 supermodels wearing lingerie, bondage and wings walked the runway in 68 new outfits..coming to a catalog near you soon.
Adrianna Lima had the honor of wearing the ridiculous fantasy bra this year, “I always wanted to wear the Fantasy Bra. It’s the first time that Victoria’s Secret makes a black diamond bra,” Lima said. “A woman could definitely buy it if they love it and men too.”
Ok, supermodel…most of us don’t want or need a diamond and ruby enrusted bra…just keep your mouth shut and look pretty.
I kid. I love Adrianna.
But really…shut up.
The hot models weren’t the only eye candy at the newly refurbished Fountainblaeu Hotel. Celebrities spotted on the pink carpet included P. Diddy, Russell Simmons, Michelle Trachtenberg, John Stamos, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian and Martha Stewart.
The 2008 Victoria’s Secret Fashion will be aired December 3rd at 10:00pm on CBS.

Leading fashion designers have warned that Britain is in danger of falling behind its international rivals if the Government does not pump more money into the UK's fashion colleges. Style authorities including Jasper Conran, Mulberry and Savile Row tailors Henry Poole said that colleges were producing a worrying number of graduates who lack basic skills.

Anyone who has ever chuckled at the scene in Ben Stiller's fashion-world spoof Zoolander in which a designer unveils a clothing collection inspired by "the vagrants that make this wonderful city" will no doubt be aware of the industry's occasional ability to transform the most inappropriate subject matter into a sartorial statement. In the case of this season's "luxe grunge" trend, designers have fortunately stopped short of channelling actual vagrants and opted for the nearest acceptable alternative, the proponents of the early 90s grunge scene.

Are you guys watching "Stylista" yet? You should be!
I've really never seen a reality show this raw. These kids hate each other, and for no good reason. Between Ashlie's full-on Aunt Pitty Pat hysterics, Kate's weepy phone call to her mommy and Danielle's wonderful oh-no-you-didn't rage-on I'm surprised that Anne Slowey and the Elle-ettes made it into last night's episode at all.
The crap job at Elle is just a conceit at this point. This show is a force of nature. You've got Megan, who's seemingly just a typical mean girl. Honestly, watching her the last two weeks I think she's had this thing figured out from day one: play Kate against Ashlie, or anyone else who seems strong. It's not a bad strategy.
Kate? There's no nice way to say this: she's a trainwreck. Between her fake boobs and her just "off" enough that we notice outfits, she's just not like the other boys and girls on the show. And they never let her forget it. It's sort of a chicken and egg thing: did Kate act crazy and make everyone hate her, or did she stop caring and let loose because everyone hated her? How many times has she cried on the show at this point? I've lost count! The only time I didn't think they were crocodile tears was last night, when she was talking to her mom.
Oh, dear. What do we know about Kate? She's an "ex law student." That's actually what they put in the caption next to her name. (Ex law student? Fashion? Riiight.) "I dropped out of law school," she told us last night. Mournfully. Kate's a quitter. Why? Well, because her mom made her one. Kate's mommy all but told her to leave the show when Kate called her in tears.
"Come home. I would have left already."
Huh? What about this "great opportunity?" Either Kate's mom knows enough about the magazine world to see that a junior editor position at Elle is no great shakes, or she's an underminer. Hmm. Tough to call.
Kate, to her credit, hung up on her mom and went into the other room to face the music with her roommates. They bagged on her for her lack of experience in the fashion world. Fair enough. She fought back. "I don't see how working in retail prepares you for this." Danielle and Ashlie both work fashion retail, and they were both pissed. Ashlie sat in her chair with her mouth open but Danielle jumped right up and started yelling. Yesss! William had to put his hands on her shoulders to restrain her.
Poor Danielle. She's the obligatory fat girl, and according to next week's previews her "insecurities are starting to get to her." Her insecurities? With this bunch? Yeah, right! I suspect Megan's the architect of whatever goes down, but it could be Kate. Or Dyshaun, Or...pretty much anyone but level-headed what-is-she-doing-here Johanna. Stay tuned!
(Oh. And I should write about the show. Ummmm, they had to pick out an outfit for Anne Slowey and then do a photo shoot for a lame Tory Burch dress. The NYU student and the gay Brit went home.)

A menagerie of animal sculptures and a cartoon-like television housing a DJ booth are not what one might expect to find in a church, but set designer Shona Heath's transformation of Sir John Soanes's Holy Trinity in Marylebone on 3 November made for a suitably surreal setting for Vogue and fine-jeweller Van Cleef & Arples' "Fantastic Fashion Fantasy" party.
