Oprah Winfrey’s popularity seems to be tanking, given her ratings and political activism. Do ya think it’s over-saturation, or just that people are finally exhausted with her. She’s put HERSELF on the cover of her magazine for years. Who does that? Enough already. Sure she has used her celebrity to help others. Perhaps it’s just that she takes herself a tad too seriously. We are not surprised that Rachel Ray’s show also is suffering lower ratings. We like her, but some of her hammy mugging tends to get on our nerves. More Anthony Bourdain, please. He’s superhot.

Brooke Hogan, the overtanned bimbo junior popsinger-in-training, wrecked her Mercedes in Clearwater this week and is praising her seatbelts with keeping her safe. We note that both the Hulk and his estranged wife Linda were both at the crash site. They have visited their son in jail (for reckless driving). And so we gotta wonder if these two are quietly trying to patch it up, despite accounts of their acrimonious divorce and rumors of affairs. Very interesting jail tapes emerging. Have ya heard em? Opportunistic at the very least.

So, Matthew McConaughey has a brother named Rooster who named his own son Miller Lyte? Shocking. We cannot believe that. Just Keep Livin’s bambino must be due soon, no? We predict that he’ll never marry the mother. He doesn’t seem the type for commitment.

David Cook, the Idol winner,is strangely growing on us. Perhaps we are weakening or something. Little David Archuleta’s interview on ‘Larry King Live’ really showed us how much of a teenager he truly is. Kinda sweet, kinda naïve – a very well-mannered little boy.

Memo to Kate Hudson: That Lance is a serial dater, honey. Be careful. He looks all fit and fun and such but you are on the rebound. He’s just a transitional man.

Sydney Pollack was the ultimate Hollywood triple threat. He directed, acted and produced, in addition to earning the respect and love of a lot of talented folks. Not a lot of people in Tinseltown so admired. We had no idea he was that sick, but we are supersad that he’s gone. We enjoyed everything he did.

You know, Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin’s much-disputed daughter Ireland is turning into a looker. Not surprising. Great genes here. Have ya seen the pix of her? Wow. She’s blossoming out of that awkward pre-teen thing into a quite a beauty. We feel bad for any future dates, given her dad’s, er… temper.

Reality show reviews: Denise Richards, not so smart, although her kids are cute. We recommend college for her – cause you can only pose for Playboy so much. We still find it hard to believe that Brooke Mueller, Charlie Sheen’s latest fiancé, is actually going through with this wedding, given his history. Dina Lohan, well… we think she did her reality show to promote HERSELF and we sure feel bad for Lindsay’s little sister Ali. How upside down do you think her life is? One long, shopping spree and no values beyond shameless self-promotion. OY. Watching these people is like watching celebrity sausage being made. Lindsay, BTW, kept up the gay charade in Cannes. We’re not buying it at all.

Looks like Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are still on. They surfaced in Miami this weekend to party and dance. Same for Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson, who spent the weekend in Dallas together. Perhaps little sis’s wedding added some commitment sparks to their own relationship.

Presidential contender wife Cindy McCain – a glamazon on the political landscape – is featured in the new Vogue. No surprise there. Anytime anyone in politics is fashionable, it’s a story. Washington is the WORST city fashionwise EVER. Either Cindy or Michelle Obama would add some special style sauce to the Beltway, that’s for sure.
